Hanover-Horton Middle School Bulletin for Tuesday, March 09, 2010

NO SCHOOL TUESDAY - MARCH 9 NO SCHOOL for Middle School students on Tuesday, March 9th. This was a scheduled day off which was listed in the student handbook and district calander. Mrs. Bergstrom sent a Global Connect message to all parents on Sunday (3/7/10) evening informing everyone about no school on 3/9/10.


SANDY KOUFAX Sandy Koufax tryouts will be Tuesday and Wednesday March 9th and 10th from 2:45 - 4:00 p.m. in the Middle School gym.


STUDENT OF THE WEEK Congratulations to Lisdsay Meckley as Student of The Week.


MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK WILL BE STARTING If you are interested in getting in better shape, Middle School track is starting in two weeks, Monday, March 22nd. You must have a school approved physical on file. The sign-up sheet is in the Middle School office. Coach Waddington/Coach Erven.


HANOVER-HORTON SPRING SOCCER SIGN-UP The Hanover-Horton Spring Soccer season is starting soon. Anyone in 6th, 7th or 8th grade who is interested may sign-up in the middle school office.


WEDNESDAY'S MENU Hot Ham & Cheese or Turkey Sandwich, Tator Tots, Pineapple Tidbits, Fresh Veggies With dip.


THURSDAY'S MENU Marino's Pizza or Pork BBQ On Bun, Pasta Salad, Cookie, Fresh Veggies With Dip.


FRIDAY'S MENU Chicken Nuggets With Roll or Fish Sandwich, Baked Potato With Sour Cream, Jello With Fruit, Fresh Veggies With Dip.


RENAISSANCE Thursday - 5-minute early release to lunch for RED cardholders. Friday - hat day for GOLD and RED cardholders.


2010 SUMMER CAMPS There are 3 different summer camps being offered to students. The first one is Machining U, this is a hands-on camp run by the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association for students interested in valuable skills like CAD design, Machining, welding, and laser cutting. This is for students 12-14 and the camp is limited to the first 20 students registered. The second camp is Gateway Academy for 7th, 8th & 9th grade students who are interested in hands-on activities that apply practical math and science. The third camp is I Can Make It! This camp is for 6th grade students interested in opportunities to design, build and test various fun projects as well as swim and play at the JCIDS's Camp McGregor. The counselors have the registration information for each camp. If you are interested in these camps please see the counselor. There will also be posters describing the camps posted about the school.
